How do you count transactions?
From your own books. Every record they took in last calendar month counts once: each Square sale or refund, each bank or card line from your feed, each receipt you filed, and each manual transaction you entered. Entries WispBooks derives from those — payout postings, tips, reversals — are never counted again. A quiet month moves you down a band just as readily as a busy one moves you up.
What happens when I cross a band?
On the 1st we count last month's transactions and set the matching price, which applies from your next invoice. There's no mid-cycle proration and no surprise charge — the change is shown on your Billing page and recorded in the audit log before it bills.
Does Full AI mode cost extra?
No — it's included in every band. It's off until you turn it on in Settings → Automation, and everything it books can be undone from Review.
Do I need to use Square?
No — WispBooks works for any business. But it's built for businesses that run on Square, so we make it a first-class connection: connect it and we surface your sales, classify smarter, and tailor deduction checklists to your business type.
Is the AI going to mess up my books?
The AI drafts; you approve. Extracted values carry a confidence score and the receipt behind them, deterministic validators check the math, and receipts from the web and Gmail post only once you've approved them — a clean phone scan files itself and stays editable. With Full AI mode on, WispBooks categorizes new transactions for you — each one is listed under Categorized for you with its reason and an Undo. Ledger entries are immutable, and posts, approvals, and corrections are all logged.
Can my accountant get in?
Yes, at no extra cost. Invite your bookkeeper as a first-class role with review and export access, or add read-only and receipts-only teammates. Team seats are included in every band.
What if I stop paying?
Your books go read-only — they're never taken away. Every view, report, and export keeps working; new work — captures, syncs, posts, and edits — pauses until you resubscribe. A business should never be separated from its own records.
What happens to my Gmail data?
Gmail is opt-in and read-only — you connect it, we look back a fixed window for receipts, and we tell you what came in. Disconnect the mailbox whenever you like. Your emails and receipts are never used to train models.
